Here is a lovely tale of a 200m fly record that has had very few changes over the years.  John Keyter, naturally held the Zimbabwe 200m Butterfly record back in his heyday in the 1960’s for the 15 yrs olds.  Later on in 1975, it was broken by Brendan Beaumont in 1975 who swam it in 2.26.80.  In 1999, the National Record was again broken by young Mitchel Spence and in fact still stands. However, here in Matabeleland Brendan has continued to hold this record, until Liam O Hara came along this weekend and reduced it to 2.24.53.  Interestingly all record holders happened to be in town, John was the guest of honour and Brendan doing a little work here in the City of Kings.  So here are a couple of pics.  I am sure that Liam will be trying to break the National record before long to complete the cycle.BB JK
